Learn Digital Medium Format

LEARNING

WORKSHOPS, ARTICLES, NEWS AND BOOKS. Digital medium format photography shares the same issues its small sensor brethren confront,
but it amplifies the rewards of good technique and while punishing poor practices. The slightest camera shake or missed focus is revealed.

There are inherent differences, too. For any angle of view a DMF lens will have less depth of field at a given f stop. DMF cameras require deliberate, i.e. slower, operation. Maximum ISOs are lower than the state of the art in 35mm formats. With proper technique, both in camera and on the computer, we can extract superior resolution, color depth, depth of field, and exposure latitude to create state-of-the-art photographs.

Look for how-to articles, news, and review. We will hold workshops and conduct trips devoted to the use of DMF equipment so you can get the most out of your gear and into your image.
